Ironman

Saw Ironman today. I had heard that it is pretty good, but I didn’t have too high expectations anyway, but it really is a good movie. Not so much of a super-hero movie really, most of the movie is more the birth of one. Ironman kind of have simularities to the Green Goblin in the Spiderman movie, but a good guy. Robert Downey Jr suits the role well I think as a multi-millionaire (like Batman) who is in the weapons industry (like Green Goblin) and start to use his inventions for good instead of profiting of death. I liked it.

HTC Touch HD

I just read that HTC will release a new mobile phone in the Touch-series before Christmas, HTC Touch HD. This model is abit bigger than the Touch Diamond, about the same size as the iPhone, but with a 480×800 display. The new model will include all features as the Touch Diamond, but also a microSD memory card slot, 5 megapixel camera, 1350 mAh battery and a 3.5mm headphone plug.

If all this is correct I’m pretty sure this will be my next phone, since it has the things the Touch Diamond lacked. This is a very interesting phone, I just hope it isn’t too big and heavy. Me wants!

Saw the new X-files movie yesterday and I must say I was abit disappointed. Somehow you assumed there would be aliens and the continued search for Mulders sister, but this movie’s plot had nothing to do with aliens and rather little to do with the unexplained phenomenons usually found in the X-files. But if you do not have these preconceptions it’s an OK movie.

Today the Hadron Collider at Cern will be started for the first time (09:00 CET). The project is to create dark matter by colliding small particles at very high speeds, and creating a miniature big-bang. So basically they hope to create matter from energy. Dark matter is a strange phenomenon in the universe that really can’t be explained currently, but it represents about 25% of the energy in the universe. Some critics say that this machine could create a black hole that will destroy the Earth. But I think we’re safe on this one, colliding particles isn’t a new thing, in experiments nor in nature. However, some day humanity will probably regret trying to know-it-all, curiosity killed that cat, and curiosity could also kill mankind very easily.

Continuing with my Saturday movie-spree I saw “The mummy 3 – tomb of the dragon emperor”, starring Jet Li as an evil Chinese emperor. Much like the previous movies in the mummyseries it’s pretty good but nothing really new, these movies are ofcourse very predictable, same sort of story but a different mummy, but it is better than the second film I think.

Kung Fu Panda

Watched “Kung Fu Panda” on Saturday afternoon, it’s an animated movie from Dreamworks and about a Panda bear whos dream is to be a kung fu warrior. It sort of reminded me of the 1997 movie “Beverly Hills Ninja” with the late Chris Farley. “Kung Fu Panda” is an OK movie with a classic theme of a misfit trying to fullfil his dream, and prove everyone else wrong. It’s ofcourse well made like most computer animated movies these days, but it’s not really my cup of tea. It has its fun moment but is probably more suitable for a much younger audience.

The Happening

Watched “The Happening” today. The movie starts with some rather disturbing scenes where a large amount of people in New York City suddenly freeze in their movements and thoughts, becomes confused and then commits suicide. It’s soon believed to be a terrorist attack with an airborne poison that blocks the chemicals in the brain that control our sense of self-preservation. Or is it an act of mother nature trying to protect itself from the human race? The movie is very intriguing and good, but it has alot of some very creepy scenes.
