the first batch of iPhone 3G was a bit pricey but now the price is more affordable than before. I bought two units of iPhone 3g and i am amazed of this phone.

I have the same lame problem. It turns itself on in the pocket. Even if I activate the lock, it just unlocks itsef and turns on!!! I tried to just lock it and turn it off and lay it on the table, then out of the blue it suddenly unlocket itself and turned on!
That is reeeaaallyy bbbaaaaad!

Pretty lame, though. It’s still brand new for me.”

I’ve had this problem too but not simply when using WMP (though, that does seem to make it worse) and it’s made me begin to loathe this phone. It seems to wake with motion actually. If I use the power button to make it sleep it turns itself back on if I put it down on the table, put it in its case, or put it in my purse. And have mercy on my if I try to put it to sleep while walking!

I loved everything else about it but it wakes up so frequently that the battery dies much too quickly and, since it wakes in my pocket, all kinds of self-use happens. It checks things off my to-do list, calls people, etc. etc. For what’s supposed to be a high-quality smartphone, that s absolutely unacceptable.

The HTC Touch HD (or any Windows Mobile phone) is not for the simple minds. In reality, there is nothing to compare. The iPhone is just a gadget with a phone that does simple tasks such as games, web browsing, email, and texting. It’s not actually a multi tasking computer. The Touch HD is a true pocket PC. Line them up and compare features and the Touch HD will win every time! If you have an iPhone then run down this list and compare:

1. 5MP rear camera
2. Front facing camera for video calls
3. GPS
4. Geo tagging of photos with GPS
5. FM radio
6. Removeable/swappable and upgradable memory card
7. A battery you can actually take out
8. Accelerometer/G-Sensor
9. 3G capabilities
10. WiFi connectivity
11. Plays MP3, MPEG-4, WMA, WMV media formats (without a 3rd party app)
12. Remote Desktop connectivity to remotely log into your computer
13. Exhchange/POP/IMAPI email
14. SMS and MMS messaging
15. Video at 320×240 pixels (32fps)
16. No programs required to add pictures, videos or install applications on the device.
17. Office Mobile – Excl, Word, OneNote and PowerPoint
18 Adobe Reader LE
19. Can install any Java app
20 Opera mini, IE and SkyFire browsers
21. 3.8 inch screen at 480×800 resolution
22. Full Bluetooth support for music and phone calls

Sorry about your experience with it, but that’s not my experience…

1. Mine is not squeaky at all.
2. I’ve never tried IPhone that much, but the Touch HD is fast enough for me anyway, I don’t know what softwares you’re running but mine is faster than any Nokia phone I had before anyway.
3. You can change the sensitivity of the touch screen, default level pretty much sucks yes. But I changed mine to be almost like the IPhone screen (they are using a different technology for touch screens).
4. Never had this problem, but doesn’t seem like a big issue. Allthough the problems with the playlists and TouchFLO3d player is annoying, but I’m sure a fix will come like it does for all new phones. IPhone probably have more than enough of these little bugs.

I have the HTC Touch HD. And believe me when I say, I deeply regret the purchase.

1. The case got squeaky EVERYWHERE, after a couple of days use.
2. Windows Mobile 6.1 is extremely slow, compared to the iPhone OS.
3. The screen feels like it was the first Touch screen ever. It’s really lame, and you almost have to put a dent in the screen to get a response. (Again, compared to the iPhone)

Overall, I’d say pick the iPhone. But then again, really up to the individual.
