elinor: Easiest is just to download the user manual at www.htc.com, since no printed manual comes with the phone, you have to download it yourself if you need it. In it you will find the answers to your questions.

Hi!

I'm having loads of problems with my phone. It's just really basic stuff, like i don't know how to change the sms ringtone or how to send something via bluetooth or even how to get rid of my email contacts into another file so that I can have my sim card contacts on their own...etc...

Also my battery doesn't last very long either.

Please help me!

Is there a website that shows you how to do stuff on the phone? I'm a bit lost...

when the htc is in standby mode normally i will press the power button once for htc to turn on.
I am finding frequently now i have to press many times even take the battery out and restart the htc. to get it working again

When the htc turns on the smart mobility or wat eva is on screen is back to front as if your looking in a mirror with the word your reading behind you.

Its quite frustating i have to do this about 3 -4 times day.

Not sure if its the screen or software problem.

once it stated to update firmware micro>>>????

Can some one please help me!? thank you

I charge mine maybe twice a week with light/medium usage (some internet browsing/emailing and GPS usage), one charge lasts maybe 3-4 days for me. Perhaps something is wrong with your battery or something, might be worth checking...

With a very light usage (close to no Internet, Wifi off, IR off, bluetooth off, minimum screen lighting) and most of its time spent in standby mode, my phone will most likely last 24 to max 36 hours before needing to be fully charged. This is very far from the 390 standby hours mentioned. In the end I have to charge it every day (the telephone is only one month old), I am worried that in six months it will not last a day without an additional charge.

Does any of you guys have this problem ? Does your HTC last more than one day with a light/medium usage ?

Thanks for your input !

The Letter Recognizer/Block Recognizer is only activated for the 6 largest languages (English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French and German). On all other languages the functionality is disabled. There are strings and guides available online to activate this on your phones (see xda-developers.com).

When it comes to alerts and and accidentally activating the touch screen. Please download the latest rom available on www.htc.com - Support - Touch HD - Software Download. (everything on your phone will be reset). Also go to Start - Settings - Personal - Sounds & Reminders. You can then select the "activity"-level or action when a reminder goes off.

When it comes to GPRS/traffic monitors, try to search on Data or GPRS monitor Windows Mobile on google and you'll find some good alternatives.

To get big numbers on the Home Screen. Put your finger on the small numbers and pull it down (it will then change to big numbers).

When it comes to movies, a third party player such as Core Player or TCPMP will handle movies better than the inbuilt player.

Standby and data functionality, there may be some third party applications such as Tweak HD that could adjust to allow data in standby (free download).
