Another 15 minutes

David Duchovny, from the popular TV-show and movies of “The X-files”, is supposedly suffering from Internet porn addiction and spend hours on online sex chats. A friend of his is now denying that the problem David and his wife Tea Leoni are having is due to David cheating on his wife, but rather his addiction to online porn and sexchats, and that this is a problem equal to alcoholism or gamling problems, rather than infidelity.

I would agree that it could be an addiction, but isn’t sexchatting with strangers when married also to be considered as an emotional betrayal of the marriage and just as bad as cheating? It is only a small consolation that he has not done anything physically, I assume since they both announce David’s problems. This is probably not an uncommon problem though, neither in the lifes of normal people nor Hollywood and political celebraties. Perhaps they should try to get some porn and enjoy it together instead, much better :).

Sex sells. It’s pretty amazing how porn and sex can generate visitors to websites. On blog search engines that displays the most common search words you will see the top 3 searches are “sex”, “sexnovels” and ”sexblog”, the keywords used on more general search engines are probably more explicit and detailed than that.

When I was in highschool back in the mid 1990′s, when the world wide web was only months old, I made alittle experiment on my website at school. I created a page with just a couple of pornographic photos (videos on the web didn’t exist back then) and texts describing them. It didn’t take many days until I had 40,000 visitors per day (!) on a site that before was completely unknown, amazing, and this was in year 1995.

I have nothing against porn at all, don’t get me wrong. But its sellingpower and ability to attract attention is just completely amazing, always has been I guess. It’s much harder to make a popular non porno site. It will be fun to see if writing about this now will have an impact on visitor counts since I’ve used some popular keywords. Hey, also visit Penskyfiles.com, it’s a pretty fun non porno site where you can kill some time :).
